Darwiniana, new series, is a half-yearly botanic publication of the following institutions: Museo Botánico de Córdoba, Instituto de Botánica Darwinion, Instituto Multidisciplinario de Biología Vegetal, Universidad Nacional de Córdoba and Academia Nacional de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales. Its mission is to publish original scientific papers and reviews from different areas of plant science with the exception of those which are agronomical or applied botanical research (of direct transfer). Darwiniana, new series, has two versions: on line (ISSN 1850-1699) and printed (ISSN 0011-6793).

We provide immediate open access to all articles on our website and no publication fees for authors.

Darwiniana, new series, assembles Kurtziana, Lorentzia, Hickenia and Darwiniana, four acknowledged botanical journals from Argentina, in one new journal with the same editorial scope, policy, and peer-review process held by Darwiniana. The  fusion of the four journals was completed in April 2013 and Darwiniana, new series, published volume 1 in July 2013, holding ISSN of Darwiniana in both versions (electronic and print).

Darwiniana articles from 1922 to 1998 are available by mail (biblioteca@darwin.edu.ar) and issues since 1999 are published on line (http://www.ojs.darwin.edu.ar/index.php/darwiniana/issue/archive).

Hickenia articles from 1976 to 2006 are published on line (https://www.hickenia.darwin.edu.ar/index.php/hickenia/issue/archive).

Kurtziana articles from 2006 to 2012 are available from Scielo (http://www.scielo.org.ar/scielo.php?script=sci_issues&pid=1852-5962&lng=es&nrm=iso), and soon in this page.

Lorentzia articles up to 2006 are available by mail biblioteca@darwin.edu.ar

To manage electronic publishing, Darwiniana, new series, uses Open Journal System (OJS). Authors must REGISTER to start submission.

    The “Museo Botánico de Córdoba”, “Instituto de Botánica Darwinion (IBODA – CONICET)”, “Instituto Multidisciplinario de Biología Vegetal (IMBIV – CONICET)”, “Universidad Nacional de Córdoba”, and the “Academia Nacional de Ciencias Exactas Físicas y Naturales”, joined their academic capacity and financial support to fuse their botanical periodicals in one unified journal: Darwiniana, nueva series.

    This project seeks a better use of academic and financial resources, to keep increasing the visibility and quality of our scientific journals, offering to the botanical community a better choice for the publication of original articles. This aim is closely aligned with CONICET policy of supporting one joined scientific journal in every area of knowledge.

The  fusion of the four journals was completed in April 2013.

    Darwiniana, new series, is currently a semi-annual journal, which started in July 2013 from volume 1, with a new cover design, and more news to come.
