Abstract

Two new species of  Mandevilla (Apocynoideae, Mesechiteae) subgenus  Exothostemon, endemic to Brasil, are described.  Mandevilla  abortiva is somewhat related with  M.  huberi,  M.
obtusifolia and M. pachyphylla, and their relationships are discussed. Mandevilla clandestina has been confused with  M.  scabra, but differs by its smaller flowers. Full descriptions, illustrations and specimens examined are given for both taxa.
