Abstract

Chromosome numbers of 16 Chilean taxa of vascular plants were studied utilizing root-tip mitotic metaphases. New records for the Flora of Chile are: Chaptalia exscapa var. chilensis (2n= c. 94), Orites myrtoidea (2n= 28),  Proustia cuneifolia (2n= 52),  Rytidosperma quirihuense (2n= 24) and Senecio subumbellatus (2n= 80).
