Abstract

The genus Bothriochloa Kuntze, which belongs to subfamily Panicoideae, tribe Andropogoneae, is mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical regions, with nearly 35 species throughout the world. Twenty six taxa of the genus were treated in the present paper, including 22 species, 2 subspecies and a variety. Within each taxa, information is given about vernacular names, iconography, distribution and ecology, chromosome numbers, a list of representative material and illustrations. A key for the
identification of taxa is also provided.
