Abstract

The presence of the genus Colanthelia McClure & E. W. Sm. is confirmed for Argentina, represented by one species, C. rhizantha (Hack.) McClure, found in the province of Misiones. The genus Colanthelia is described and some remarks about the related genera are included. Colanthelia rhizantha is described,
illustrated for the first time and a few comments about the flowering are given. A key for the genera of native woody bamboos present in Argentina, is also included
