Abstract

In the present work the mitotic chromosome number and karyotype of Hoffmannseggia glauca are reported. Its number is 2n=24 as previously was reported for other species of Hoffmannseggia. The karyotype is symmetrical and composed by 8m + 3sm + 1st pairs. Chromosomes are small sized. Their
average size is 0,87-1,31 mm for the m type, 1,17-1,51 mm for the sm type and 0,90 mm for the st type.
