Abstract

The genus Tibouchina, Melastomataceae, is mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas and includes nearly 350 species. Seven taxa are considered in the present paper and two of these are new records for the Argentinian flora. Each taxon is described and ilustrated. A key for the identification of the species as well as information on distribution and ecology is also provided.
