Abstract

An inventory of the types of Gramineae wich originally came from Berlin herbarium (B) and kept in the Gaspar Xuárez herbarium (BAA), has been made. A total of 310 types (fragments of holotypes, isotypes and isosyntypes) which belong to South American taxa, were analyzed. The types have been ordered alphabetically: bibliographical and label data, characteristics of the material, the numbering of samples and up to date identification was included within each entry. This collection belonged to the agrostologist Lorenzo R. Parodi. who in 1936 visited different European herbaria, including Berlin. Parodi obtained isotypes and fragments from (B) through Robert Pilger. When he returned to Argentina the material was ordered and preserved for more than 30 years in his private herbarium. After his death in 1966, his herbarium was donated by his wife to the Gaspar Xuarez herbarium (BAA). where it can be found today.
