Mitotic chromosome counts and observations are given for the 6 species of Acacia growing in San Luis province: A. caven (Mol.) Mol., A. atramentaria Benth., A. visco Lor. ex Griseb., A. aroma Gillies ex Hook, Acacia furcatispina Burk. and A. farnesiana Willd. The number 2n=26 was always found. A. atramentaria is cytologically studied for the first time. In A. caven and A. furcatispina, polyploid cells (2n=52) were also detected, being this the first report of polysomaty in these species.Downloads
