Abstract

The genus Bromus L. is represented in Argentina by 5 sections: sect. Bromus, with 6 species; sect. Ceratochloa (P. Beauv.) Griseb. (9 spp.), sect. Genea Dumort. (5 spp.), sect. Pnigma Dumort. (9 spp. and 3 varieties), and sect. Neobromus (Shear) Hitchc. (1 sp.). Of these 30 species and 3 varieties, 13 are introduced and 17 are indigenous. Three species are endemic to Argentina, B. bonariensis Parodi & J. A. Cámara, B.flexuosus Planchuelo and B. parodii Covas & Itria. A key to recognize all species and varieties that inhabit in Argentina is given, as well as description of the species, synonymy, iconography, geographical distribution and ecological observations.
