Elymus hitchcocki Davidse and E. scabrifolius (Doll) J.H. Hunz. are regarded as species distantly related and not as conspecific as considered recently by several authors. A number of morphological, ecological, distributional and chromosomal differences, which were pointed out more than 30 years ago, are stressed. A new status and combination is proposed for the latter taxon.Downloads
