Abstract

A new combination, Gymnocalycium spegazzinii Britton & Rose subsp. cardenasianum (F. Ritter) Kiesling & Metzing is established. A key to distinguish the subspecies, area and types of both taxa are given. Typification of the subsp. spegazzinii is discused, and its lectotype is designated.
