Abstract

Four species of Saprolegniales were isolated from three aquatic environments of Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. Scoliolegnia asterophora, Aphanomyces laevis, A. stellatus and A. parasiticus are reported for the first time for Argentina. Three of them were found as saprotrophs on floating organic matter (vegetative remains) and water samples, and the fourth one, as a parasite on the hyphae of an unidentified species of the genus Achlya.
