Abstract

Eighty-eight taxa of fresh-water Cyanophyta belonging to the orders Chroococcales, Oscillatoriales, Nostocales and Stigonematales were identified. Eleven species and one taxonomic form are recorded, described and illustrated for the first time for Argentina: Aphanothece smithii, Gloeothece palea,
Hydrocoleum muscicola, Tolypothrix fragilis, Tolypothrix papyracea, Scytonema fritschii, Dichothrix baueriana,  Stigonema flexuosum,  Fischerella muscicola,  Hapalosiphon delicatulus,  Hapalosiphon luteolus and Anabaena variabilis f. tenuis. Forty-eight other taxa are new records for the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Observations about habitat (planktonic, metaphytic, epiphytic, lithophytic and limiphilous), ecological characteristics  and geographical distribution are included.
